Job Details

An opportunity has become available to join the Deal Management Team (DMT) in London to assist with managing a broad portfolio of loans and structured transactions for the EMEA commodities business.

This team is an independent function from the deal originators in the middle office and is responsible for performing a range of controls and checks to ensure the safe execution and administration of commodities lending transactions, and ensure key operational risks are being effectively managed and monitored.

The DMT team primarily manages borrowing base lending facilities in the shipping, metals and renewable sectors and also ensures borrowers comply with the prescribed covenants in our facilities. In addition, the team covers collateral management, in particular for structured oil physical financing transactions.

You will be undertaking validation checks on the assets that the business is lending against, which include the ongoing valuation of collateral, the calculation and management of credit exposures and handling of customer working capital requests. You will be obtaining and analysing relevant financial information and managing all aspects of loan administration. You will also be ensuring covenant compliance requirements are met across the portfolio of facilities.

Working with the wider group in the business and risk management functions, you will have visibility of deal formation, structuring, approvals and ongoing oversight requirements of lending and structured trade transactions with the potential for future growth to be involved in these aspects.

You will need strong numerical and excel skills along with relevant experience in transaction operational management, loan administration or accounting. An understanding of loan documentation structure and terminology would be advantageous.

If you can demonstrate high levels of initiative and attention to detail as well as a genuine interest in commodity markets, then please apply now.

Working at Macquarie

We believe in providing a positive environment for all our staff that is innovative and inspiring. For our female staff, Macquarie’s senior leaders are actively involved in increasing the representation of females in management positions.  In June 2014, we launched a mentoring programme for females, with the following two objectives:

  • Address female retention rates at Senior Manager level and improve our diverse pipeline of talent;
  • Engage female Senior Managers by providing tools and support around their personal development;

The programme pairs up Senior Managers with Directors, who meet on a monthly basis, and are supported by active group sessions (bi-monthly) with an external facilitator.

We select some of the brightest minds to help us in solving complex challenges for our clients.  We recognise that recruiting talent from varied backgrounds is essential to improving our understanding of the marketplace, and enhancing creativity and problem-solving capabilities in our businesses.
