Sky Broadcast playout Technology team is looking for a Principal Playout Platform broadcast engineer, who will lead a team of engineers who's key focus' is designing, delivering, enhancing and Maintaining Sky's world class linear Playout facilities. As well as leading the implementation for Sky's proposition of 24/7 UHD linear channel offerings and the migration of linear event based Playout to a software first Cloud environment.

* Provides encouragement to team members, including communicating team goals and identifying areas for new training or skill checks
* Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present their ideas in front of stake holders and colleagues from a range of business areas and backgrounds.
* Good knowledge and experience in use of Windows/MAC/Linux and applications such as MS Office/Visio/OmniGraffle.
* Core skills such as attention to detail, problem solving and an ability to "Think outside of the box".

What you'll bring:

* Solid understanding of Video and Audio Technologies including Traditional technologies such as 3G SDI, Uncompressed and Compressed IP streams.
* Experience/knowledge of Colour space used for HDR and SDR UHD transmission
* Solid knowledge of networking fundamentals and Ethernet based technologies. (TCP/IP, UDP, QoS etc)
* Solid Knowledge of SDI over IP standards (including SMPTE2022-6/7 and ST2110)
* A solid understanding of AWS fundamentals.
* Experience of cloud playout implementations
