Job Description

Compliance

  • Lead on the design and delivery of procurement audit processes (e.g., adherence to process and policy, how we manage our contracts, KPIs, SLAs, etc.), ensuring appropriate monitoring and reporting mechanisms are put in place.
  • Put in place the templates, tools and systems in order to effectively monitor compliance
  • Show an understanding and awareness of commercial risk; sourcing plans, end to end supplier and contract management

Stakeholder Relationships

  • Work closely with all levels of the organisation; regional Chief Executives, Heads of Estate, Directors, and Head office staff
  • Work with the Commercial Team Officers
  • Develop relationships across defence; MoD, DIO, and other shared service commercial teams as may be appropriate

Commercial Focus

  • Be comfortable dealing with complex contract and procurement processes
  • Knowledge of Central Government or Public sector commercial and procurement
  • Embed commercial assurance, scrutiny and governance

Management Information

  • Ensure appropriate MI is provided by suppliers on our Commercial Agreements timely
  • Ability to analyse key management information and performance data to inform decision making

The Successful Applicant

  • CIPS level 4 or equivalent commercial experience in purchasing or supply chain or to commit to working towards this qualification as part of their role
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills to meet the needs of a diverse organisation
  • Able to present information/proposals/ideas effectively whilst engaging the audience and clearly communicate the benefits
  • Able to work effectively individually and as a member of a team and collaborate where appropriate
  • Experience using Microsoft Office; in particular Excel to Advanced level
