Description of Opportunity

As an Schools Engagement Specialist, you will be working with a small team to grow Microsoft Skills Initiatives within schools, inspiring the next generation by equipping them with real world skills to set them on their way to a future career in the tech industry – through in school events, and Microsoft tech including Minecraft.

As a global organisation, Microsoft have many different customer types to provide their many services to – they call these 'Business areas'. In your role you will be located within the Public Sector business area, where you will work with education establishments.

You will work as part of a team to...

  • Manage the Schools Digital Skills Programme
  • Lead and organise a team of volunteers to deliver programmes
  • Provide support and enthusiasm to Microsoft employees who show desire to engage with schools and share their digital skills
  • Coordinate internal and external stakeholders and manage those relationships
  • Work with the marketing team to ensure you have all you need to successfully deliver the programme
  • Organise and deliver events and activities in schools
  • Develop an innovative approach to encourage schools to adopt the Minecraft: Education Edition as part of their in-school learning

You will study for a Level 3 Business Administration qualification over this 18-month apprenticeship. You will spend 80% of your time learning on the job, and 20% working towards your apprenticeship. If you are successful on this programme, you may have the opportunity to go on with Microsoft to study at a higher level within your team, for example a Degree Apprenticeship.

Microsoft operate in a Hybrid Working environment. In simple terms, this means your working life can be split between home and your contracted place of work. As an apprentice you and your manager are empowered to find the flexible balance that works for you. Trips to your contracted place of work will be required from time to time.
