Are you an accomplished Human Resources Leader? An opportunity has arisen for an experienced professional to join our Engineering & Energy Services Business Stream as the Head of Human Resources at our site in Portsmouth.

Engineering & Energy Services is a relatively new business stream and is focused on improving and growing our engineering and energy capabilities, whilst continuing to provide a consistent and dedicated service into Warship Support and Products & Training Services. The business stream has a challenging and exciting growth agenda to offer these capabilities to the wider Maritime businesses and indeed, external customers.

As Head of Human Resources, you will be responsible for the deployment, implementation and delivery of the overall Human Resource strategy to include employee relations, strategic workforce planning (SWP), Talent Management and ensuring diversity and inclusion is at the heart of the people agenda. You will be a strategic partner and provide advice & counsel to Heads of Departments, People Services Leads, E&ES Senior Management & Leadership Team and Line Managers.

This is a rare and exciting opportunity for an experienced Human Resources professional to join one of the largest global defence companies where you will be influential in the exciting growth agenda for Engineering & Energy Services.

Your main responsibilities as a Head of Human Resources will involve:

    Contributes to the business strategy and strategic direction to meet business objectives and requirementsDevelops the People Strategy and implements and ensures alignment of the Strategy with business requirements and objectivesDevelops effective business relationships and coaches senior managers and Director; equipping them with appropriate tools and knowledge to create high performing teams.Encourages employees and line managers to use correct service channels.Promotes transition to new HR operating model, by encouraging People Managers to adopt self-service functionality.Leads, drives and ensures delivery of complex business change projects, ensures alignment with People Strategy and Plan, and realisation of business and People Plan benefits/objectives.Provide HR support to future Bid submission & provide HR due diligence in relation to Acquisition activities.Employee Relations (manage ER engagement plan, implementation plan around business construct and people impacts and Case management activity).A member of the HR Function Senior Management Team and contributes to MS business People Strategy.Uses a comprehensive understanding of the business and relationship management skills to influence, facilitate and implement change.

Your skills and qualifications:

    Experience operating at senior level within a complex & multi-matrix organisation with a proven track record managing people.A HR Generalist with demonstrable experience leading a HR function and delivering a full range of HR activities to the business including Employee Relations, Culture, Reward, Talent and Performance Management, Occupational Health, Wellbeing, Diversity & Inclusion.In-depth understanding of how to influence managers to operationalise, integrate and deliver people processes, people projects and change within the business. Comprehensive knowledge and application of People processes and procedures with demonstrable experience driving outcomes and conclusions on a range of complex activities and projects.Strong experience across business transformation, change and culture.CIPD Qualified.

Desirable:

    Experience of operating successfully within an engineering, energy, digital or manufacturing environment.

Your confidence and assurance will enable you to develop strong working relationships at senior level and challenge the status quo. You will be commercially astute and solutions driven, with excellent diplomacy skills in order to guide, influence and persuade colleagues, managers and external agencies. You will be comfortable with independent decisions, balancing priorities and championing best practices for the business.

Location: Portsmouth (flexible hybrid working environment)

Salary: Up to £75,000 + Executive Level Benefits Package to include Car Allowance + Bonus
