Finance Business Partner

Would you like to play a key role providing business partner support across our Air E&I (Europe & International) portfolio? We have a vacancy for a Finance Business Partner based out of Warton.

BAE Systems Air has the capability to provide customers with information superiority through the delivery of actionable intelligence and information, together with the provision of innovative information systems and services. Working as an integral part of the team delivering information superiority and effective air power, our aim is to provide our customers with the capabilities and intelligence that really matters.

Air E&I (Europe & International) is responsible for the delivery of our European & International commitments for Typhoon, Tornado and Hawk, including production aircraft, aircraft capability, and through life support.

As a Finance Business Partner, you will be responsible for providing Finance Business Partner support to the Shared Services across the Europe and International portfolio, which covers a variety of interesting contracts, ranging in size, complexity and value. You will be part of an Integrated Team, working alongside Project Management, Procurement and Engineering; therefore, your ability to work cross-functionally is vital. You will need to exhibit high levels of business acumen to ensure you add shareholder value to the Projects you work on and BAE Systems PLC as a whole.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to work closely with the product and cutting-edge technology along with exposure to a variety of senior stakeholders within the business.

Your main responsibilities as a Finance Business Partner will involve:

  • Supporting decision making and providing financial support by analysing key issues and trends, risks and opportunities, undertaking business and financial modelling and evaluating and interpreting the outcomes of alternative scenarios
  • Providing financial advice and support to the Shared Services driving the functions to meet business challenges, including costbase
  • Ensuring compliance with BAE Systems operating principles (Lifecycle Management and FPM)
  • Supporting the business in investment analysis - preparing business cases and investment proposals
  • Building partnerships and maintaining strong relationships with the Shared Service teams

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential Skills:

  • CIMA, ACA ACCA - Qualified or part Qualified
  • Working experience within a Project Accountant/Finance Business Partner role either within manufacturing or service-based industry
  • Financial Systems exposure and understanding e.g., Infor LN

Location: Warton (hybrid working arrangement)

Salary: £40,000 +
