Sustainability Manager - Supply Chain Data & Reporting

Sustainability is important for BAE Systems. We are focussed on meeting ambitious targets within the Environmental, Social and Governance spectrums to mitigate the significant and lasting impacts of climate change on economic growth and prosperity, make a positive social and economic contribution to the communities in which we live and work and uphold high standards of governance and business conduct.

These ambitious targets extend to our Supply Chain, with who globally we spend more than £10bn annually with more than 19,000 Suppliers. We strive to deliver value by being excellent stewards of this spend.

As the Sustainability Manager-Supply Chain Data & Reporting, you will be at the heart of accelerating and integrating our Sustainability ambitions into our Supply Chain. You will develop and implement best practice data standards, metrics and reporting to support the Global Supply Chain Sustainability Strategy and provide key ESG data insights and causal analysis to the business to enable effective decision making.

This newly created role has a direct impact on the global BAE Systems Business, as such it can be based at any of our UK sites with a flexible working arrangement.

Your main responsibilities as a Sustainability Manager - Supply Chain Data & Reporting

will involve:

    Develop common data standards for Supply Chain Environment, Social & Governance activities.Develop and baseline Supply chain Sustainability Metrics.Develop Supply chain Sustainability dashboard with ongoing monitoring, reporting & causal analysis.Develop a Supply Chain Sustainability Risk Framework and reporting mechanism.Lead cross-Business, Supply Chain Sustainability initiatives to deliver specific corporate objectives.Support preparation and submission of Supply Chain Sustainability Corporate Reporting inputs.Provide key data insights to the business to enable decision making around strategic objectives.Provide support to data driven Sustainability projects.Support initiatives with external Professional & Industry bodies on supply chain sustainability initiatives.Collaborate across other Group Functions and Business units to share knowledge and manage risk.
    Lead on Supply chain Sustainability Communications.

Your skills and qualifications:

    Thought Leadership to motivate, inspire and innovate.Commercially astute with excellent negotiation and persuasive skillsExcellent stakeholder management, communication, reporting and influencing skills.Ability to influence and report at senior levels within and external to the organisation.

What we are looking for in you:

Essential:

    Broad knowledge of Sustainability best practice from external sources, networks and other companies.Deep understanding of Sustainability processes, and how these fit into the wider organisation's processesProven experience working in a data analytics, data insights, metric position previously
Desirable:

    Procurement or Supply Chain qualification (MCIPS or equivalent)Project Management (APM or equivalent) MSc in either Sustainability or Data and Analytics

Location:

Flexible with Hybrid Working

Salary:

Circa £60k depending on experience
