Job Description Summary

We are looking for a product innovator, big on analysis and motivated to inspire change, and deliver positive outcomes for our business and customers.

So if that sounds like you and you’ve taken a career break for at least 18 months, then you’re eligible to apply for this Returners role.

Job Description

Why the Lloyds Banking Group Returners Programme?

Unlike with some other Returner Programmes, this is the offer of a permanent role in a supportive working environment from day one. Since our award winning programme was launched eight years ago, we’ve hired more than 120 passionate professionals back into leadership roles.

We expect this role to work in a hybrid way, flexing between working from home and a local office. We recognise that in order to attract the best people we need to be flexible – that ‘normal’ office hours aren’t always doable! Whilst we can’t accommodate every flexible working request, we're happy to be asked.

We welcome our Returners into teams where we’re committed to help building your workplace expertise. We’ll also provide a 16-week programme of additional wrap-around support crafted to restore skills and help you step back into your career. Just search ‘Lloyds Banking Group Returners Programme’ to find out more.

Purpose of the role:

Consumer Lending are the UK’s leading provider of credit cards and unsecured personal loans through our four business brands: Halifax, Lloyds Bank, MBNA and Bank of Scotland.

The last two years have seen constant innovation in embedding finance at point of sale. More than 13% of our Current Account and Credit Card customers now use the ‘Buy Now, Pay Later’ payment option for their retail purchases. We’re very excited to enter this market and embark on our own journey to create and launch options that allow greater flexibility at point of sale.

In this Embedded Finance Product Manager role, you’ll be responsible for designing and delivering new payment capabilities across all of our core brands. Your responsibilities will range from new proposition development, to optimising the customer journey experience, as well as driving value through data insight and analysis.

So what does that involve?

  • Embedded finance proposition design based on a deep understanding of the market and ever evolving customer needs

  • Helping to shape market leading Digital capability through detailed analysis and data driven insight

  • Producing timely governance materials for proposed changes collaboratively with key stakeholders

  • Ensuring good product governance and control management

  • Supporting the annual investment process to fund new proposition development

We'd love to see a number of the below aspects in your background:

  • A deep appreciation of customer needs, with experience applying that insight to design and deliver creative product propositions

  • Strong commercial focus, with emphasis on measuring and delivering results

  • A strategic approach to meeting customer needs, ability to think laterally, be innovative and creative

  • Experience within financial services would be helpful and whilst we aren’t looking for a risk expert, an understanding of the regulatory landscape would be beneficial

What we want to see in your style

Firstly, you’re curious about the lives and experiences of customers. You enjoy exploring data and are inquisitive in nature. You use your analytical thinking and problem solving to get to the source of the issue.

You’re big on collaborating and are quick to establish and build communities of meaningful relationships, positively influencing across our Division and beyond.

You love to learn. You’ll continuously look at ways to develop your skills and enjoy finding new ways of doing things with the passion to suggest and explore ideas that help us improve and innovate!

And you'll also have a gift for clear communication to explain findings, getting the balance right between providing detail and keeping it simple. This may be in written reports or as a verbal presentation.

What we'll give you in return

This role is permanent with a regular salary and access to wide range of flexible benefits including private medical care and holiday buying.

We'll help you get up to speed quickly and provide you with challenges that make a difference to real lives; a positive opportunity to work alongside committed people who care about our customers.

We'll ensure that individuals with disabilities are provided reasonable accommodation to participate in the job application or interview process and to perform essential job functions.

So if you're ready to dust off those hard-won skills then apply today and see where the programme will take you...we'd love to hear from you.

Please send us a copy of your CV with a covering letter highlighting the skills and experience you’ll bring to the role alongside details of your career break. Good luck!

Note - The role is flexible across location and will fall in pay group relevant to location.
