This is an exciting opportunity to join our Equity Finance (EQF) business in London.  As part of this successful and highly supportive team, you’ll be helping drive business growth and increase profitability for the business. You will be focused on SBL coverage for our Equity Finance team covering internal shorts, HF demand and servicing our various counterparties.

The key responsibilities in this space would be building effective relationships to ensure we can optimise Macquarie’s position across the market. We would expect these relationships to enhance and benefit the overall team. In addition, the right candidate will find a pathway to introduce new relationships with the right counterparties to augment the book further and introduce those relationships to other team members.

We need a personality that can generate two-way flow in this space therefore they will need to be a self-motivated individual who has the ability to hustle for tickets on a day-to-day basis to get the most out of assets in our long inventory box as well as getting specials and hard to borrow supply from our lenders. It is envisaged this role also involves assisting with some in house specials situations within Macquarie (eg. hedge fund distribution, synthetics short coverage, corporate action JV with GI) as well as trading directly with the street.

To be successful in the role, the ideal candidate should have:

  • experience at an investment bank
  • 5-10 years of SBL experience
  • Strong relationships, high energy individual
  • Ability to hustle for trades and self driven
  • Experience in Europe. Experience in the US market would be an added benefit
