Cook Wembley 18 hours per week Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday - 8.30am - 2.30pm GBP10,605.27 per annum (GBP11.30 per hour)

Our client is a local charitable company, offering high-quality day care for older adults living in the communities of Brent, Harrow and Ealing. At their Centre located in Sudbury Town, they offer a wide range of activities and therapies that contribute to the mental and physical well-being of older adults, while being cared for by a professional and experienced care team.

Are you the right person for the job?

If you have/are the following, then the answer is yes!

Level 2 Hygiene Certificate in Catering
QCF/NVQ level 2 in Food Preparation
Minimum five years of working within a Day Centre/Care Home kitchen or similar and providing meals for large numbers of people
Knowledge of nutrition for older people and experience in menu planning
Good written and verbal English
Numerate & Literate
Computer literate (Microsoft Word, Excel, emails)
Excellent time management skills and ability to work under pressure
Ability to self-motivate and achieve SMART objectives
Effective working within teams and on an individual basis
Able to work Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday each week, with occasional overtime (i.e. additional hours, additional days) and weekend and evening working as directed
A liking of older people and the ability to relate to them especially those with dementia and other advanced mental health conditions
Knowledge and experience in following employers safeguarding practices and conducting risk assessments
Ensuring a catering environment complies with person-centred planning and essential standards of health and safety regulations
How to achieve outstanding customer service
Understanding of COSHH regulations
DBS certificate (enhanced for working with adult workforce) required
Ability to work unsociable hours when required (e.g. evenings, weekends)
Your role as a Cook will include, but will not be limited to

To manage the preparation and cooking of a wide variety of meals in the catering section of the Centre, menu planning and providing healthy nutritious meals and snacks
To be aware of applying all policies and procedures to maintain the Centre s kitchen
To be aware of, and comply, with all statutory and legal food hygiene regulations
To understand the need to promote privacy, dignity, independence, choice, rights and fulfilment of all clients, treating everyone with respect
To manage and supervise the Kitchen Assistants in their duties
