Customer Service Officer

Do you have a customer service background? We are looking for a Supporter Care Officer to responds to a variety of questions regarding the charity’s appeals and products.

Position: Customer Service Officer

Location: Swindon (M4 corridor) Flexibility available, but regularly required to work in Swindon

Hours: Full time

Salary: £19,691 pa, plus competitive benefits package

Contract: 12 Month Fixed Term Contract

The Role

The Supporter Care Officer is often the first contact supporters have with the charity, and responds to a variety of questions regarding appeals and products. Your work will include maintaining supporter records, placing orders and supporting events for the organisation, often dealing with a cross section of the public via email, telephone and letter.

The Supporter Care Officer also provides a service to our staff, for whom we book travel and act as an information hub.

Main responsibilities include:

 

  • Consistently meet high levels of service when answering the telephone and replying to emails
  • Establish and promote the work and mission of the charity – including the work of Open the Book – in all contact with supporters and the public. This includes being able to pray confidently with supporters when requested over the telephone
  • Enter information into the Customer Relationship Management system
  • Process credit card donations received over the telephone
  • Amend existing Direct Debits and create new Direct Debits for supporters, over the telephone
  • Answer questions and resolve any issues regarding our online shop
  • Use centralised flights, hotel, train and taxi booking service to support others
  • Financial processes for purchase orders and batch processing of donations

 

About You

As Supporter Care Officer, you will have experience of using CRM databases as well as Microsoft Outlook and Word with experience of working in a customer service role.
