Job Details

We believe in better. And we make it happen.

Better content. Better products. And better careers.

Working in Tech, Product or Data at Sky is about building the next and the new. From broadband to broadcast, streaming to mobile, SkyQ to Sky Glass, we never stand still. We optimise and innovate.

We turn big ideas into the products, content and services millions of people love.

And we do it all right here at Sky.

What you'll do:

UK&I Technology

Ground-breaking projects. Innovative tech. Top innovation. Join our UK&I Technology team and you'll work across technology projects that drive our TV, broadband, mobile and Sky Connect services. You'll be at the heart of delivering the technology roadmaps that support our UK and Ireland businesses, with a focus on customer innovations for Sky Glass. That's not all. You'll also design, develop and deliver digital services for millions of customers across the UK.

As part of the UK&I Architecture & Platform Engineering leadership team you'll be an experienced and credible leader, with a passion for the software development lifecycle from ideation to production support and observability and the ability to inspire and motivate.

  • Develop and lead a transformational strategy for SDLC tools, systems and processes in support of a large and diverse engineering community.
  • Motivate and give purpose to a cross-functional team of professionals and guide them to a cohesive and inclusive roadmap of continuous improvement.
  • Support, influence, and collaborate with our software engineering teams to help them realise their improvement programmes and to refine and automate their processes.
  • Build trusted relationships with peers, stakeholders and suppliers and leverage them to deliver quantifiable productivity gains across the full SDLC.

What you'll bring:
  • Leadership - a track record of providing inspirational leadership to teams and demonstrated leadership qualities.

  • Technical excellence - demonstrable experience of SDLC tools, processes and methodologies; systems, platform, and infrastructure automation; monitoring, alerting and observability.

  • Continuous improvement - a proven record in your field but with knowledge the job is never done. You are forward-looking and restless for better outcomes.

  • Organisational Awareness - knowledge of leading both internal stakeholders and counterparts in interfacing organisations. Ability to think of approach beyond establishing traditional support arrangement boundaries for internal service management.

The rewards

There's one thing people can't stop talking about when it comes to #LifeAtSky: the perks. Here's a taster:

  • Sky Q, for the TV you love all in one place
  • The magic of Sky Glass at an exclusive rate
  • A generous pension package
  • Private healthcare
  • Discounted mobile and broadband
  • A wide range of Sky VIP rewards and experiences

How you'll work - hybrid working

The world has changed. And so have we. We've embraced hybrid working and split our time

between unique office spaces and the convenience of working from home.

You'll find out more about what hybrid working looks like for your role later on in the recruitment process.

If not based in Livingston you will have regular travel to Livingston.

Your office space

Livingston Watermark House

Our lively campus is a free shuttle bus away from Livingston South train station and the town centre. Plus there's onsite parking available for cars, motorbikes and bicycles.

You'll be well fed at our subsidised canteen, and you can keep in shape at our onsite gym - or play a game of pool or table tennis.

OR

Osterley

Our Osterley Campus is a 10-minute walk from Syon Lane train station. Or you can hop on one of our free shuttle buses that run to and from Osterley, Gunnersbury, Ealing Broadway and South Ealing tube stations. There are also plenty of bike shelters and showers.

On campus, you'll find 13 subsidised restaurants, cafes, and a Waitrose. You can keep in shape at our subsidised gym, catch the latest shows and movies at our cinema, get your car washed, and even get pampered at our beauty salon.

OR

Leeds

Our spacious tech hub is less than a mile from Leeds train station. There's plenty of parking in the surrounding streets and at the nearby CitiPark.

Need a break? You can blow off steam over a game of pool or table tennis, and stay fit at our subsidised gym.

OR

Brentwood

This location takes some beating: we're practically in Brentwood station, which has regular trains to London Liverpool Street. If you find it easier to drive, there's some onsite parking, while Chatham Way car park is a short walk away.

OR

Brick Lane

Our Brick Lane office is in the heart of the East End of London. It's part of a vibrant and diverse community; close to street food, cafes and shops.

Inventive, forward-thinking minds come together to work in Tech, Product and Data at Sky. It's a place where you can explore what if, how far, and what next.

But better doesn't stop at what we do, it's how we do it, too. We embrace each other's differences. We support our community and contribute to a sustainable future for our business and the planet.

If you believe in better, we'll back you all the way.

Inclusion:

Recognised as an 'Inclusive Top 50 Employer' and a 'Times Top 50 Employer for Women', we're working hard to ensure we're a truly inclusive place to work. This means we don't just look at your CV. We're more focused on who you are and the potential you'll bring to Sky. We also know that everyone has a life outside work, so we're happy to discuss flexible working!

And we'll do everything we can to support you during your application. If you need us to make any adjustments to our recruitment process, speak to our recruitment team who will be happy to support you

We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, colour, national origin, sex, gender, gender expression, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status. We will ensure that individuals with disabilities are provided reasonable accommodation to participate in the job application or interview process, to perform essential job functions, and to receive other benefits and privileges of employment. Just so you know: if your application is successful, we'll ask you to complete a criminal record check. And depending on the role you have applied for and the nature of any convictions you may have, we might have to withdraw the offer.
