Job Title: Project Lead

Location: Barrow based. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements, however there will be a requirement to be on site 3-4 days per week.

What you'll be doing:

  • Identifying, assessing, and managing risks applying appropriate project management methods and tools for plan-driven approaches and preparing realistic plans (including quality, risk and communications plans)
  • Agreeing and managing adaptive project approach with stakeholders, tracking activities against the project schedule
  • Consolidating expertise from multiple sources and third party experts, to provide advice to further organisational objectives
  • Supporting and promoting the development and sharing of specialist knowledge within the organisation.
  • Developing management reports and support the PMO lead
  • Identifying and understanding key dependencies internally as well as external to specific workstream lead
  • Working individually and as part of the local team both directly and indirectly
  • Apply the LCM (can we elaborate LMC for the external market) framework as applicable

Your skills and experiences:

Essential

  • Previous project Management experience with knowledge and understanding of project management policies, processes, procedures and systems
  • Full Project Lifecycle Management experience and an understanding of the LCM framework/application
  • Strong Project Management and Microsoft package experience Project Management Software, P6 and/or MS Project

Desirable

  • Transformation and or change experience, finding tangible solutions
  • Planning and or scheduling experience, with the ability to perform advanced project reporting and scheduling

The Dreadnought Programme team:

This is a new team being set up to prepare and implement innovative and advanced production processes and technology for the build of the Dreadnought class of Submarines for the Royal Navy.

The production facility are transitioning from the build of the Astute class to Dreadnought and you will join the team responsible for implementing advanced production technology and systems to facilitate the build of an extremely complex platform that is of significant strategic importance to the UK.

This position will focus on the development of the overall vision and strategy and establish the overall Project management reporting framework, controls, LCM and financial management.
