Job title: Group Media Manager

Location: Farnborough - We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements - please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: £55,000 + depending on experience

What you'll be doing:

  • Supporting the Head of Media Relations UK to deliver media communications in support of the Company strategy
  • Working with communications teams across the UK to advise, shape and influence the development of content that can be used across multiple channels
  • Using a range of digital media available to promote the Company's stories with relevant audiences and work with the digital and sector teams to provide data-driven evaluation
  • Developing and managing proactive media engagement plans, with effective measurement and evaluation, for specific projects or milestones, working with the communications team in the relevant UK business
  • Working with the Head of Media Relations UK to develop and execute media plans for the main UK tradeshows including DSEi and Farnborough International Airshow, including evaluation to measure success and support future improvements
  • Undertaking out of hours duty press officer duties (on a rota basis)

Your skills and experiences:

  • Excellent written and media relations skills
  • Experience of delivering integrated media communications across multiple channels, particularly digital
  • Experience of collaborating with individuals and teams
  • Good awareness of how the role interfaces with the rest of the wider communications function
  • Creativity to bring fresh thinking and ideas to help drive the Group Media team to maximise use of digital media
  • Experience with managing content and sharing using social media channels

The Communications team:

You will be a key part of a team that manages media relations with national journalists, creating and building strong working relationships with defence and technology correspondents in particular. The team, which is part of the wider Group Communications function, works proactively to tell stories to a wide audience across a variety of channels, helping to promote the Company's reputation.

You will have the opportunity to gain a broad understanding of the Company, from key programmes to the latest technology innovations, gaining exposure to a range of senior stakeholders.

The team regularly works at the Company's sites in Farnborough and London andthe role will involve frequent travel to both locations. You'll also get the opportunity to travel to other UK sites in order to support media activities and build successful working relationships with colleagues across the business.
