Suffolk Night Owls is a project within Suffolk Mind that provides a night-time telephone support line, its available to anyone in Suffolk who needs emotional support including those with complex emotional needs.

We are looking for a part time Telephone Support Line Operator who has excellent telephone skills and is able to comfortably deal with challenging calls.

Part time 14 hours per week (Wednesdays and Saturdays)
5.50pm 1.10am (with a 20-minute break)
Bury St Edmunds
From GBP18,500 - GBP20,600 pro rata per annum plus unsociable hours rate of 20% increase after 10pm

We are also accepting applications for relief staff in this role, paid at GBP10.16 per hour plus unsociable hours rate after 10pm.

Key requirements for this role:

Previous experience of working with people within the mental health field and people suffering mental distress.
Previous experience of providing support in a 121 setting.
Educated to a good standard with excellent communication skills
Previous experience of taking calls on a helpline.
Good listening and people skills with the ability to communicate clearly with a range of people
Flexibility to work unsociable hours working shifts including weekends and bank holidays
