Overview

The Healthy Happy Lives Support Service supports the needs of older people in local communities. Through helping people reconnect with their community or activities of interest, the Service aims to reduce the overall impact of isolation and loneliness in older people whilst increasing their independence and mobility.

The Role

As a Service Co-ordinator, you will have responsibility for co-ordinating The Healthy Happy Lives Support Services for the East Fife area to provide people with nutrition, hydration and cognitive and physical exercises. Overseeing volunteer recruitment, training and mentoring, you will assist the Service Manager to ensure growth of the service.

We re currently looking for a Service Co-ordinator to join us on a fixed-term contract until the end of March 2023.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

- Co-ordinating and delivering the day to day functions of Supporting Health Happy Lives sessions. This will involve travel around the area as necessary.
- Arranging and delivering appropriate activity plans for each group
- Assisting with matching volunteers with clients/Services, providing the best service possible.
- Completing regular evaluation and reports as required by Funders and agreed by the Operations Manager.
- Assisting with the induction, development, day to day support and motivation of volunteers, adhering to relevant policies and standards.
- Ensuring compliance with associated statutory standards, policies and procedures e.g. Health and Safety, Food Hygiene, Data Protection and Safeguarding.
- Supporting initiatives to meet the fundraising targets
- General administrative duties including maintaining Management Information Systems, general correspondence and communications.

Working Hours

We are looking for someone to work 18 hours per week and we are flexible to discuss individual working days and working hours to suit your situation.

This could include weekends and bank holidays and there may also be opportunities for paid overtime in busy periods or to cover absence.

What you ll need

- A full, valid driving licence and access to your own vehicle (mileage reimbursed weekly)
- The ability to work independently and confidently delivering activities to older people and/or their carers
- The ability and creativity to design group activities
- Knowledge and understanding of volunteers and voluntary services.
- Relevant experience of working with volunteers and supporting and motivating them on a daily basis.
- Relevant experience of handling personal information and the legal requirements of this.
- Excellent communications ability at all levels.
- The ability to act on own initiative within agreed parameters.
