The University of Nottingham Students Union has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Finance Assistant to join our team based in Nottingham. You will work on a part time (15 hours), permanent basis, and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of GBP19,500 p.a. pro rata equating to GBP8,357 per annum.

The Finance Assistant role:

The Finance Assistant role presents an excellent opportunity for an experienced Finance Assistant - Accounts to support the Finance Team. The Finance Assistant - Accounts ensures the Students Union is a well-run and responsible organisation by performing bank and till reconciliations accurately and on time. You will also support and develop the understanding of the student treasurers and non-Finance staff, empowering them to have greater knowledge of financial processes.

What are we looking for in our Finance Assistant?

AAT qualified or qualified by experience

3 years or more experience working in a similar role

Experience of all aspects of bank reconciliation

An understanding of VAT and ability to apply the technical rules we must follow would be highly desirable, although not essential.

Able to deliver excellent customer service

Experience of developing others

Experience of using computerised accounting system

Excellent organisational and communication skills
