What is the business?

Barrett & Coe Photography is a unique premium business opportunity which will fulfil the ambitions of creative people. This is a high income, low overhead business run from home to produce fantastic photographs of mums, babies and families. It is an opportunity perfectly suited to a job share, or someone looking for a part-time occupation that will fit around their family commitments.

Barrett & Coe run an extensive training course aimed at people who are keen to redirect their existing skills to create a professional and profitable photography business. No previous photography experience is necessary and holders of the franchise are able to run the business to suit their life. The unique element is who the photographers are – very nice people!

Barrett & Coe is a privately owned photographic business specialising in portrait photography. The primary studio, located in the historical city of Norwich, is the oldest surviving purpose-built studio in the world and there is also the training school premises a little out of the city. In addition to these two sites, Barrett & Coe has a network of 60 photographers nationwide.

Investment and potential earnings:

A franchise costs £6000 + VAT, which includes all the training. In addition to this, the cost of equipment (camera, specialist software, lights etc) and start-up capital would be around £3000. All capital costs can be financed from a leading High Street bank at preferential rates and payments are easily covered by the takings.

Is there training and support for franchisees?

A Barrett & Coe franchise provides a skill for life. Brian Barrett and Andrew Coe are a unique team of teachers who operate from a fully equipped Norwich base. Franchisees are given industry-leading training; and once the course is completed Barrett & Coe will offer ongoing support, additional training and immediate access to paying customers.

Barrett & Coe has joined together with a company specialising in marketing baby products, in order to supply leads of pregnant ladies and recent mums. It runs a central booking line and then distributes the business to participating photographers. Basically, the working model can be unique to each individual; some simple networking through friends, schools, NCT groups, post-natal groups and similar, can provide a stream of on-going business on top of any supportive arrangements with Barrett & Coe.
