Life is one big juggling act. Spend my mornings rushing around preparing the girls for school before shoving on make up and hurrying out with wet hair!
Dash to school then work. Which hat have I got on today? Woman next to me is in a bad mood so we all suffer. Wouldn’t mind if I hadn’t given up precious summer holiday time to cover her job keeping her workload down. Feel very unappreciated – between her and my teenager who both grunt and moan – they are pretty similar.
Other job required moving to a new office. No phones or computers – the boss got hers but I have to wait till next week for mine. Still unappreciated. Lots of hot desking for me – feels like my whole life is spent running from one place to another –between work and school, home and shops; even at work I do four different jobs . My sane moment comes on Thursdays at yoga –the stress disappears and it’s the one evening I sleep without my mind ticking over all the things to be done the next day.
To top it all I am doing distance learning. That’s if I can ever get on the computer at home between the teenager with homework and the six year old with an addiction to the Sims! Have to book a day off to catch up on housework and homework.
I feel as though I should be keeping up with qualifications so that I can still climb up the work ladder – as a mum you sometimes get passed over for promotions, but it’s really hard to juggle it all. I also want to feel that my brain is not just full of mush.
How do others feel and manage?

I am only too aware of the stress of job juggling. I am one of those mums that people assume doesn't work as I go to work at night as a waitress. I spend my day looking after my daughter (1 year) and ferrying my son (6 years) to and from school and clubs, cleaning and keeping house. Then cooking and dishing up tea for the family and then going out to work, where I then have to deal with adults who act like children and treat me as the thick waitress who can't do any better than waitressing. If only they knew that I have a brain and used to use it before I had children and only waitress as it fits in with family life and also means no child care costs. Good on you Kernow mum and keep going.
