The number of men looking after family and home has increased by 5.5% in the last year, according to the Office for National Statistics.

The number of men looking after family and home has increased by 5.5% in the last year, according to the Office for National Statistics.

Its figures shows 228,626 men are economically inactive because they are looking after family or homes. This compares with 2,046,602 women, although the number of women has decreased by 2.2% in the past year. The ONS says the figures on men could include men who are looking after elderly family members as well as dads.
