Add an annual turnover of more than $12 billion to a rental and leasing fleet made up of more than one million vehicles spread across some 7,600 locations worldwide and you get Enterprise Rent-A-Car – a business that’s grown into the largest car rental company in North America and arguably, the world.
Of course, bigger doesn't always mean better. There can be a downside to success, and it's usually the employees who end up bearing the brunt. But not at Enterprise.
The fact is, we owe our success to each and every one of our people, from senior managers to management trainees to customer services agents alike. We firmly believe in empowering each of them to make the decisions that will affect their work and their career. This philosophy, along with our uncompromising commitment to customers, is what has made Enterprise a genuine success story and a truly special place to work.
Just imagine the possibilities that come with joining a huge, internationally successful business with the type of personal, entrepreneurial approach which allows individuals to stand out. Our secret lies in the fact that we're divided up into thousands of smaller, local businesses. So if you take one of our management trainee jobs, you'll be learning how to run the business yourself.
We also have lots of great opportunities available within our Business Support team in Aldershot. From Damage Recovery and Risk Management roles, through to more traditional admin positions, we've full and part-time career opportunities galore.
Diversity is a central goal in all areas of our business, and our commitment to a diverse workplace extends to every employee, customer and business partner. We strive to celebrate the many differences that make us unique and we know that it’s these differences that help make ours a successful business. It’s our aim to create a culturally aware work force and a culturally competent organisation that mirrors the makeup of the communities we serve.
Overall, our aim is simple – to provide a friendly, supportive and inclusive working environment that people are proud to be a part of. Maybe that's why we’ve been named in the 'Times Top 50 Companies Where Women Want to Work' for six consecutive years. We were also honoured to be chosen winner of the Best Diversity category in the recent, student-driven TARGETjobs awards. It reflects our constant efforts to be open to all.
Our UK and Ireland Diversity/Career and Family Focus Group helps us recruit, retain and develop our work force. We have 11 local teams throughout the UK and Ireland that complement the work of our national team by helping individuals, groups and business units achieve local diversity goals. These teams identify challenges and recommend changes so that we can meet the needs of our employees and help them balance their career with personal commitments.
Values aren’t just something we talk about here. They’re the very cornerstones of what makes Enterprise successful, and you’ll find them being brought to life by our people, day in, day out. If they strike a chord with you, then there’s every chance you’ll fit in perfectly with us.

Diane Mulholland - Managing Director, Scotland/Northern Ireland
‘I’ve moved rapidly through our management ranks since joining in 1996. For women in business, it’s imperative to know that you can have it all. Enterprise has allowed me to pursue my dreams of having a successful career and being a mother. Being included in Management Today’s ‘Top 35 Women Under 35’ list was a huge honour – it’s been great to be recognised both internally and externally for my accomplishments.”
Gill – Customer Service Specialist, Aldershot Business Support Centre
Hi Gill, would you say that Enterprise is a flexible employer?
Definitely! I owe my friend big-time. She was the one who said I should contact Enterprise when I told her I wanted to go back to work now that my kids are older. It's thanks to her, I've got a job that pays really well and allows me to work hours that suit my lifestyle - the 6 to 12 pm shift, three days a week.
Being a good team player is a must for this role, since you need to build up a rapport with the various branch managers. But the biggest buzz I get is from knowing I've done my bit to help out someone in distress.
Apart from great promotion prospects and a terrific support network, you also get loads of benefits when you work for Enterprise. For instance, they have great family days out where no expense is spared. And at Christmas, well, they really go overboard.
Sian Furreedan – Group HR Manager
‘I’ve just completed my Masters in HR and Enterprise has been extremely supportive, providing both financial support and time off to study. When I started my career with Enterprise, I was fresh out of University. Now I’m married with children and running an HR department – Enterprise has been there every step of the way helping me to achieve both my career and personal goals.
