To be eligible for the SME award, organisations should be able to demonstrate a real commitment to work life balance practices, including flexible working, support on return to work from maternity leave and career development for women and show how these are of benefit to the organisation.
In order to be considered, all interested employers are required to complete an application covering key areas such as flexible working practice, return to work, diversity and parent support. All employers are invited to submit evidence, such as case studies and monitoring reports, which supports their case. Employers may choose to enter more than one category.
There will be an initial screening by workingmums.co.uk and a shortlist compiled. Shortlisted entrants will then be judged by a panel of judges that will include experts on the issues concerned. Winners will be announced at the WorkingMums Top Employer Award ceremony in central London on 5th October 2010.
