To be eligible for the Best for Dads Award, employers should demonstrate:
Specific policies targeting dads, such as inclusive parenting networks, publications and outreach targeted around dad's rights, shared parenting initiatives, innovative policies on parental and paternity leave which go beyond what current legislation stipulates and activities which support all parents. They should show how these policies and practices are being communicated and monitored and include case studies.
In order to be considered, all interested employers are required to complete an application covering key areas as outlined in the guidance above.
It is vital that employers include data that is specific and relevant to the Best for Dads category so that the judges can see why they should be considered for this specific Award. Where possible, employers should strengthen their application by including case studies which are relevant to the category applied for as well as evidence that policies are being monitored and developed, such as statistics on take-up of policies.
Employers may choose to enter more than one category. Entries should be no longer than four sides of A4 paper, but supporting evidence can be of any length. Entries can be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org or posted to: Annika Williams, Workingmums.co.uk, PO Box 53228, London, N3 1YR. If supporting evidence cannot be emailed then please post 6 copies to the same address, clearly marked as evidence for your entry.
Deadline for entries is July 12th 2013
There will be an initial screening by Workingmums.co.uk and a shortlist compiled. Shortlisted entrants will then be judged by a panel of judges that will include experts on the issues concerned. The application will be judged purely on the application form and evidence supplied – hence the need for a strong, relevant application.
Winners will be announced at the Workingmums Top Employer Award ceremony in central London in November 2013.
