Working mums have little time to socialise

The poll of 472 working mums found 48% could not remember when they last went out with friends. Thirty-one per cent said they went out occasionally. Ten per cent go out once or twice a month and only six per cent went out more than once or twice a week.
The poll confirms previous surveys of working mums showing they have very little time for themselves.
Most say they are too busy at home with looking after the kids. One mum said she hadn’t been out at all since having children. Another said she had no money to go out.
One simply commented: "Three babies in three years – my idea of a great night is four hours sleep in a row!!!!
Yet another said she felt guilty about going out as her husband didn’t like going out so did the housework when she saw friends which left her feeling guilty.
However, one mum, Kim Smith, counselled that it was important to have a break. She said: "Always try and get out with your friends. Friends are worth the effort even if it’s only for a couple of hours. Everyone should get a different perspective on life. Your life should be more than just family – no matter how wonderful they are!"
