National Work from Home Day – Friday, 24th September

Friday, 24th September heralds National Work From Home Day which is designed to encourage people to cut the commute and work from home for the day.

Work Wise Week, run by not-for-profit initiative Work Wise UK, which promotes healthier working practices, is now in its fifth year and encourages people not to commute to work.

It will mark the end of a week suggesting alternative methods of flexible working to make businesses greener, including mobile working, remote office working and holding virtual meetings.

Commenting on the start of Work Wise Week 2010, Phil Flaxton, Chief Executive of Work Wise UK said: "This year, smarter working is more relevant than ever, with the recession biting hard, businesses have to find ways of reducing costs whilst maintaining productivity and smarter working practices are an integral part of the solution. I would urge the UK's working population to support and engage with Work Wise Week 2010".
