Back to work - groan!
Little one is now nine and a half months old and my return to work is imminent. I keep on doing the lottery in the hopes I will win enough to just pay off my mortgage - I am not greedy and don't need millions though it would be nice!
It's been really hectic as I am now (mad fool) the secretary of our school PTA and we have had lots of events to organise. Last week was a car boot sale but unfortunately I was too unorganised to even get my own stuff ready to sell!
Eldest daughter is studying profusely for her exams this week so any attempt to get her to help with housework is met with groans and moans. However she still seems to manage to go jogging regularly! Don't want her to be overstretched - she can look forward to that pleasure when she has her own family in years to come, though hopefully if she does really well at school she can afford to employ help!
Middle daughter has been pickled with eczema, poor girl. She has been itchy especially at night which means not much sleep for me. The other night I went to bed at ten thirty thinking "Great, an early night!" No chance. At twelve thirty when I again glanced at the clock, I had been in and out of bed six times, and only one of those was to feed the baby!
So you can see why I am dreading my return to work! Lots has changed there and I now have the added bonus of getting an extra child ready in the mornings. I am still not in much of a routine at home. The house never stays tidy. The ironing is piled high. I need some new clothes. And I will be out of the house for two full days.
Well at least I may well be organised by the time little one reaches her tenth birthday. By then though the bags under my eyes will have doubled, with no chance of them going. But hey ho, that is the lot of the working mum!
