Cinderella will get to the ball

Cinderella will get to the ball

This year started certainly started on the right foot, as I received an email from the Wedding industry Awards, saying that our vintage campervans had won the a regional award for wedding car services across London and the South East.
We had also been shortlisted for the national best newcomer award. The award was a huge deal for our small, one man (or should I say lady) band business. Having news that you want to shout about really helps with your publicity – I must have written about 100 articles for various web sites. I was also able to collect feedback from previous customers who had submitted comments to the judging panel, proving valuable for me to use as customer testimonies.
The award ceremony itself was a big event on my calendar – a glitzy affair in a fancy London venue. I was really looking forwards to getting dolled up and networking with similar people in the wedding industry... the only problem was that it was one week before my baby was due!!! This was where my family rallied round and supported me to do everything they could to ensure that “Cinderella went to the ball”.
My sister came to the event with me, to help should anything happen. We also arranged for a babysitter to look after my little girl, so that my husband could provide his taxi services. He was so lovely that he even spent the evening at a local coffee shop, on standby in case baby decided to come... waiting for us girls to emerge from the party. The evening was enormous fun, and I met lots of new faces as well as a few familiar ones... there was no doubt that my business benefitted from me being there – and I also got a pampering session and new hair cut out of the big day too. All in all, I am one happy lady... although one week after the ceremony, I am STILL waiting for this baby to come... I guess that all good things come to those who wait.
