Here comes the Bride(smaid)
It has been a real working mum juggling week this week, and we are only half way through. Baby is better now, but then grandma, who acts as morning childminder two days per week, came down with it. She needed a day off yesterday... and I catastrophically failed to find anyone else to help. So I worked around the baby, and put some extra time in at the end of the day to make up for the interruptions. Today grandma felt up to it, but had the meter man in. So I had to run the baby to her house in the morning, and then firstborn to school. It felt all very stressy and rushed, and I know it is what most working mums have to deal with every day (I am really rather spoilt as I don't have to rush about that much normally). Still at least we are all getting some good sleep now.
On a lighter note, at the tender age of 36 I will be a bridesmaid for the first time next Summer! I have coveted the role since the age of 4. My sister had a less traditional wedding, so no luck there. And my last hope (one of my best friends) says she's not going to bother with the wedding thing so I thought I was out of luck. But a relatively new friend asked me in a snap decision. I thought it was because I was moaning that I would never be a bridesmaid, and told her don't worry, but she was serious. She has already bought the beautiful dresses from Monsoon. The only problem is that the bride and all her other bridesmaids are in their twenties.... so worrying a bit that I will be look like an old hag in the wedding photos. Better get some face cream.
So finally I will walk down the aisle. Firstborn is so jealous. I have told her she is also a bridesmaid with the special jobs of keeping the baby under control in the church, and starting off the dancing. I also promised her a new dress. She seems appeased. My other half is an usher too. I'm certain it's the nearest anyone will ever get to seeing us walk down the aisle together!!
