New network launched to focus on inclusion and diversity
Equality and Human Rights Commission chair Trevor Phillips has launched a new Employers' Network for Equality and Inclusion, calling for employers to look to embrace greater diversity.
The network covers all nine areas protected under the Equality Act 2010, including age discrimination, gender equality and religious discrimination.
Phillips said equality and diversity were key issues if employers wanted to get the best talent and added that effective handling of these could lead to greater inclusion.
Denise Keating, chief executive of the new network, said its role was to promote best practice and develop practical solutions for employers.
Chair of the organisation is Harry Gaskill from Ernst and Young and former Cabinet minister David Blunkett is a patron.
