And you thought you’d had a busy day....
For our nursery children, every day at Bright Horizons is full of adventure and learning
Here are just some examples from the daily diaries our nursery staff provide for parents to share with them how their child has spent their day (names have been changed for privacy!)
Today we had snuggle time on the sofa sharing our Growing Readers featured book ‘Dear Zoo’. Lifting the flaps to find out which animals were underneath was so exciting. Holly had great fun copying the animal names and sounds – we loved hissing like snakes and ‘Elephant’ is her new word today! Sharing books together promotes language development and a lifelong love of reading and learning – all part of our ‘Growing Readers’ initiative.
In Gardening club today Zac helped plant lettuce and radish seeds. We also picked our first green beans of the season and dug up new potatoes for lunch. Zac was very excited at finding the potatoes in the soil - “it’s like pirate treasure” he shouted. Paul the cook was delighted with our harvest, using our produce to create our healthy nursery lunch today.
Candy Floss our Safety super hero joined us today and talked about playing safely with the wooden blocks. Sometimes the children have been a bit too excited with building tall towers and we need to be sure they manage this safely. Chet loved meeting Candy Floss and asked if Candy Floss can come home with him this weekend. Each weekend Candy Floss goes home with a child and has a trip somewhere like the park or the shops. We ask each child to share with us how Candy Floss helped them play safely by adding photos and a story to Candy Floss’ special book. We know you will all enjoy having Candy Floss coming to stay this weekend to help you stay safe.
Jasmin helped make our posters, to remind everyone of the Walk On event on Friday. Whilst we were making these Jasmin talked about how our walk will help children who don’t have a safe place to live. We look forward to our nursery parents joining our Fancy Dress Walk On round the garden -the children have set a target of £100 to help the Bright Horizons Foundation to
create a Bright Space for children in a Women’s Refuge. With all this talk of fairy gardens and fundraising, it was no surprise that in Cookery Club Jasmin suggested “Let’s make pink fairy cakes tomorrow to sell to Mummies and Daddies on Friday!”
Would your child enjoy nursery days like these? Let us show you why each of our Bright Horizons nurseries is truly a special place, full of opportunities for fun and learning.
