A confidence boost

The East London Business Alliance, a social regeneration charity based in east London, has developed a suite of materials designed to support parents returning to work.

Established in 2018 by ELBA and HSBC, the Enable Programme aims to support the skills development of those looking for, returning to or wanting to get ahead in work.  Comprising of 40 modules, this learning suite covers topics such as; the Job and Application Process, Building Confidence, Managing Conflict, Professionalism in the Workplace, Business English and Improving Communication. All materials are accessible on-line and for those based in London, face to face workshops are also available.

Siobhan Scantlebury, Programme Manager at ELBA says, ‘As a mum that has recently returned to work, I appreciate first-hand those concerns that can play on the mind of someone that has been out of the workplace for a period of time.  I was anxious about whether I had retained the skills needed for a smooth return to my role, the work environment and daily politics!  We hope these materials form a useful resource for those experiencing similar concerns.’
