Workingmums.co.uk is chairing a session on flexible working at an online summit this month which aims to help mums find the work they love on a flexible basis.
The MindSet Shift Summit aims to be “an inspirational and practical forum for mums to start their self-discovery journey”. Set up by Sophie Segal, a mum who left the corporate world after having children and is now an entrepreneur, it focuses on the pre-job search element as she believes this is critical to removing internal barriers and regaining confidence. It also aims to connect like-minded mums and companies.
Sophie says: “Having a child is a life-changing moment for a woman – with change comes doubt, uncertainty and a need to re-adjust. This is also an opportunity to be creative and is exactly what the summit is about – start taking baby steps that will lead to a mindset change to look at your career in a positive way again and find that dream job… on a flexible basis. This way around NOT the other.”
The Summit, which runs from 30th January to 2nd February, will consist of a combination of live and pre-recorded masterclasses, interview sessions and inspirational stories.
Over 25 experts, businesspeople, coaches and mums will speak at the Summit. They include Paul Lindley, founder of Ella’s Kitchen, Annika Lantosca, Head of Admission at Digital Mums, and Morwen Williams, Head of Newsgathering Operations at BBC and a Timewise Power Part-Time Top 50 person.
Attending the online Summit is free, but there are premium passes which entitle members to extra such as coaching sessions. Topics to be covered include career change, social media & networking, storytelling, self promotion, pitching and CV writing.
Workingmums.co.uk’s founder Gillian Nissim will chair an event on what works in flexible working. Speakers include Mathew Cutts, director of healthcare communications company Cuttsy and Cuttsy, and Sarah Sutton, Head of People & Development at digital marketing and publishing company Genie Ventures.
They will discuss the policies, practice and work culture which led to them being awarded Workingmums.co.uk Top Employer Awards, why that culture matters to their business, how they make it work and all things flexible working.
