A leading independent training firm has launched a competition which will provide free training for mums who are looking to return to work.
Pitman Training’s Fastest Fingers First campaign is based around an online speed typing test.
Winners scoop £250 and free training.
The competition aims to reveal whether stereotypes of women being faster typists are trye or if 20th century technology has brought men up to speed. Olympics athlete Colin Jackson has already taken part and his results will be announced at the end of June on the Pitman Training facebook page.
Claire Lister, MD of Pitman Training Group said: “We thought this would be a fun way for people to re-address their typing skills as being able to type efficiently can really save hours in your day. Obviously we also like a bit of healthy competition so are intrigued to see if women beat men, and which regions are the strongest in the country”.
Colin Jackson said: “I’m really happy to be involved in speeding up the nation – we all need ways to make life that little bit easier. I’ve taken the test and am now nervously awaiting to see how many of the great British public beat me…this could be interesting!”
Pitman is running another competition, Up2Speed, which tests speedy annotation and shorthand. Winners get a free speed note-taking course.
