FDM Group talks to workingmums.co.uk about how it is coping with the business challenges presented by the coronavirus lockdown.
We are asking some of the most progressive employers how they are adapting to the challenges presented by the coronavirus lockdown. Technology company FDM Group places people, including returners. in technology jobs around the world. A past winner of our Overall Top Employer Award, it outlines below how it is responding to recruitment and assessment challenges posed by COVID-19.
workingmums.co.uk: Are you continuing to recruit and how are you doing this?
FDM Group: At FDM it’s ‘business as usual’ and we are continuing to recruit. We welcome applications from candidates who are looking to restart their career in business and technology. As we navigate our way through the COVID-19 pandemic we are fully operational, having adapted the way in which we conduct interviews and assessments.
workingmums.co.uk: How are you implementing remote working and training and onboarding new recruits?
FDM Group: Remote working is in place across all FDM centres and candidates will now undergo a fully virtual assessment. For the time being, training will also take place virtually and access to learning materials and support from trainers will be available remotely. Our account management team is working with clients to ensure continuity of FDM’s service. Interviews are being conducted via video link and FDM are providing the required level of support to ensure the onboarding process runs smoothly.
This ensures we can continue to recruit, train and deploy consultants during this challenging period, while placing paramount importance on the safety of our FDM community. We will continue to operate within government guidelines.
We have assessment days being conducted throughout April and May and other dates scheduled throughout the year.
workingmums.co.uk: How are you supporting employees through the current situation?
FDM Group: Supporting our people during this challenging period is our top priority as they relaunch their career in IT. Our Employee Assistance Programme offers a 24/7 confidential helpline providing guidance and assistance in many aspects of life, including financial, relationship, addiction and mental health.
FDM also offers a structured mentoring programme along with continued professional development opportunities.
