A DAY IN THE LIFE: Emma Cann

A Day in the Life

What can be done to encourage more women into the industry? To find out, we caught up with:
Emma Cann
Scape Framework Manager

I’M CURRENTLY RESPONSIBLE FOR

Managing marketing and work winning for Scape. Scape is a framework which provides public sector clients with a best-practice, procurement vehicle. I help manage the framework and promote its benefits to public sector clients and consultants procuring capital works above £50million.

TO ME, DIVERSITY MEANS

Recognising what makes people different, whilst encouraging and allowing them to flourish. It means giving everyone equal respect and equality opportunities.

TO ENCOURAGE EQUALITY, THE INDUSTRY CAN

Showcase the other opportunities that our industry has. If you don’t want to don a hard hat, there are so many other roles and opportunities for progression. But, the industry also needs to demonstrate how times have changed on site and break down some stereotypes of the culture.

LENDLEASE IS A PLACE FOR ME BECAUSE

Of the people I work with and because I’m encouraged to challenge and have my own opinion. Having the ability to progress whilst still having a good work life balance has been key – working four days a week hasn’t hampered my career at all.
