I have just returned from maternity leave and found out that another person in my company got an enhanced maternity package whilst I received statutory. They received the bonus element of pay during maternity leave. I did not. Can a company have different rules for different people? Their leave was before mine, but there has been no change to policy at any time.
Your employer needs to operate the maternity policy consistently so if the policy has not changed then an error seems to have occurred.
Furthermore benefits continue through maternity leave so you should have received your bonus if that is a contractual entitlement.
Hopefully, this has just been an oversight. However, I would submit a grievance to your employer in accordance with the grievance policy outlining your complaint and hopefully this will be resolved.
