Do I forego redundancy pay if I take a second job?
I am being made redundant from my part-time job. I work three days a week. I have the opportunity of another part-time job (two days a week) working on the days I’m not contracted with my current employer. If I take this job will I forego my right to redundancy pay with my current employer?
It you are working for a new employer on the two days you don’t work for your original employer then that wouldn’t have an impact on your redundancy pay.
You can find work on the days you are employed currently, but the new contract couldn’t start until you have been through the redundancy process and have ended employment with your current employer.
