Extra job on maternity leave: ask the expert

I teach full time at a secondary school. I have been offered tutoring at another school in a different LEA for 5 hours a week. I tutored at the same school for a week commencing 20th July 2010 and my baby was born on 21st October 2010.  Can I take these 5 hours without it altering my maternity leave/pay? If not, are there any loopholes to get around this?

Under maternity regulations, you are entitled to 10 keeping in touch days.  If you return to work for any number of hours for which you are paid remuneration (other than the KIT days) then you will be treated as having returned to work and your SMP will cease.
