Get Ahead match our business experts to clients’ business needs. With a pool of over 40 experts, we match the most appropriate person in our team to fill a gap within our client’s business. Our services range from virtual assistants, social media managers and PR specialists through to book-keepers and HR specialists. We love making a perfect match – in terms of skillset, but also personal fit.
As a franchisee, you’ll be a Regional Director, responsible for finding clients who want to outsource their business services, making the match to the right expert from our team and managing the relationship. In a key difference to other franchises, you will not need to carry out the work yourself. This will play to your strengths as an experienced people manager and, importantly, means that the growth of your business isn’t limited by either your capabilities or your time. You truly can manage your way to success!
As a fast-growing franchise, you’ll be a key player in our supportive team, able to input into the future direction of the company. You’ll regularly meet with the franchise owner, Rebecca, who is a passionate advocate for all of her Regional Directors. You’ll be part of a business that is winning award-after-award, most recently winning a 2020 SME News ‘Business Elite’ Award.

The Get Ahead franchise model provides you with the opportunity to go into business for yourself, but not by yourself. With Get Ahead, you will be part of an established, award-winning brand, but still be a business owner in your own right.
You run a defined territory and provide outsourced support to your clients through a core team of virtual assistants and over time you are encouraged and supported to build a local regional team of virtual assistants. Your clients are business owners who need support in telephone answering, administration right through to marketing and PR. You are given ongoing training and mentoring to build the necessary skills to effectively network face to face and online to build a dedicated client base.
Franchisees come from a variety of backgrounds – HR, marketing, project management and senior office management. They all have experience of running teams and projects. It is essential that franchisees have excellent communication skills – verbal and non-verbal and have the confidence to speak in public. Networking involves a lot of listening to others, understanding requirements and building relationships. Get Ahead franchisees succeed when they demonstrate a mixture of all these attributes!
Franchisees are hugely supportive of each other and they are involved in the recruitment process of new franchisees as it is essential that they fit within a growing team.
After a discovery meeting, the induction involves a full two-day session including photos, a video and full briefing from a variety of the team so the new franchisee has the confidence to get out there networking from day one. The induction is bespoke and identifies specific areas of development for each new franchisee.
The support does not end after the induction – the brand knows the importance of regular support, mentoring and training. There are monthly online calls with all the franchisees together, which is a wonderful way to share best practice and there are many opportunities throughout the month to have one to ones with the franchisor.

When & Why did you join Get Ahead VA?:
I joined the Get Ahead VA team in September 2020. Running my own business, being in control of my future and more importantly my time, was something I had always wanted. After taking a career break to have my daughter, it seemed like the perfect time to evaluate things and put my goal into action. The tried, tested and successful Get Ahead VA business model, was the opportunity I was looking for. Something that matched my skillset, delivering professional services to help business owners grow and succeed, while giving me the flexibility and control over my own success that I was seeking.
What did you do before you joined Get Ahead VA?:
I had a long career in operations for furniture retail, which included a number of new store launches along with ongoing management, mainly across the south of the UK. This enabled me to strengthen my project and people management skills. I then moved into the automotive industry where I worked for over 10 years, specialising in the full Marketing mix, including affiliate business marketing and event management. I was fortunate to meet some great people and have some amazing experiences with prestige brands such as Aston Martin & Jaguar. My original role in automotive was actually a trial position, I am proud that I was instrumental in making that role an operating standard across the UK dealer network. An Aston Martin DBS is still my dream car! My career took me all over the country, but I’m now happy to be back on my own home turf in the East Midlands.
Career Highlight to date:
I feel I have been very fortunate to have clocked up some great highlights in my career but one of my real highlights was organising and managing the London, Mayfair launch of the Aston Martin four door Rapide in the Dorchester Hotel, Park Lane for over 400 guests. It was such a success that it was promoted as the global launch of the new car. However, launching my own business with Get Ahead VA and becoming part of the team, is such a highlight for me already!
Plans for the future:
To develop and grow the Get Ahead VA business in the East Midlands and to build on the already fantastic team of experts that are key to what we offer. I am really looking forward to delivering fantastic results for local business of all shapes and sizes, enjoying new experiences and meeting some interesting people along the way.
