Learn more about how franchising works, and if it is right for you:
Find out why franchising might be a good idea if you want to work flexibly, for yourself:
Sing, dance, pretend, play, where will our imagination take us today?
Devised by an experienced former drama and English teacher and already enjoyed by hundreds of children across the UK and beyond, our drama and imaginative play classes develop key skills including communication, confidence, concentration and co-operation. And what’s more, they’re lots and lots of fun!
Here at Pyjama Drama, we champion the working parent and have devised a business model which allows you to work around your family commitments, whilst building a profitable and viable business.
With three different franchises to choose from, you can choose to run just one franchise, or to mix and match. Many people begin running one franchise to begin with, and then buy a second at a later date.
We are an established and robust franchise with over 30 franchisees in the UK and with teachers also in California, Malaysia and Australia. In 2011 we were named as one of the top 100 most innovative companies in the country, by business website smarta.com.
We are proud to be an ethical, supportive and vibrant company who continues to move with the times.
In December 2017 we launched our new website pyjamadrama.com which sees huge improvements in functionality for the franchisee and the customer alike.
We also recently partnered up with online review company, Trustpilot, and are thrilled to be rated 5* Excellent.
During our Pyjama Drama sessions we are always on the go and through a range of movement based activities (both in and out of role) children are encouraged to express themselves and share their ideas about the world around them.
Our classes are structured in such a way that children quickly become familiar with the format and this gives them the confidence to relax and enjoy the sessions. They also love the fact that there is such variety in the topics – we have over 400 tried and tested session plans which means that no child need ever repeat the same class twice!
For more information, please download in Info Pack which outlines all of the opportunities available and/or get in touch to arrange a time to meet via webinar or phone when you can find out more information about financials, explore our teaching plans in more detail and meet a director. We’d love to hear from you and find out about your business goals!
We are looking for people who are genuinely inspired by children, love pretending and make believe and who have the confidence to lead a group of children in creative play.
Pyjama Drama is a unique and forward thinking business. It is also financially rewarding. Not only can our franchisees work flexible hours around their personal circumstances, they can also generate an excellent income.
Drama skills are important but you don’t need to have had formal drama training. All franchisees are trained by an experienced teacher and are given ongoing support, help and advice. Some experience of working or playing with preschool children is important, although this may have come from playing with your own children.
You do not need to come from a teaching background (though many of our franchisees do), similarly there is no expectation that you will have any prior business experience – we will give you all the tools and training you need to succeed.
Above all, we value honesty, integrity, a desire to make a difference to young peoples’ lives and the drive to build a successful business.
There’s an awful lot of information to take on board when you’re considering joining a franchise, so we’ve broken down the most important information into just 7 emails.
If you’d like to take the challenge, and see if Pyjama Drama could be your next career move, give yourself a few minutes a day, for just 7 days, to read emails from Director, Rachel McKenna – and by the end of the week, you’ll be in a brilliant position to know whether or not Pyjama Drama is for you!

“Joining Pyjama Drama was the best decision I have ever made! I am a mum to three children and running the franchise has not only enabled me to fit in my work around them, but it has also brought me personally so much joy and personal satisfaction.
I’m thrilled with the way my business has grown in only one year and proud of the fact that my hard work is paying off financially!” Kirsty Dorling, Franchise Manager for Portsmouth
“Wow what an overall fantastic experience! I have now been part of the Pyjama Drama dream team for just under 3 years and the support throughout each stage has been extremely helpful and informative. I have made great friends and found myself a whole new man-made family within Pyjama Drama!
Not only is teaching the children the best job ever, it is also truly satisfying to know you have been a part of growing children’s imagination.
Now I have reached a point where I need more help to expand my business, so have just taken someone on as a creative leader.
With the help and encouragement from head office using STAR training as constant support from advertising for the right candidate, telephone interviewing, practical interviewing and advice on how to keep your new staff. You really CANNOT ask for anything more”
Lisa Moulder, Franchise Manager for Gloucester, Stroud & Forest of Dean
“Belonging to a group of people, all with the same shared interest and aims, makes running Pyjama Drama really enjoyable.
There is no need to feel isolated or worry that your business is going to be a struggle to grow; there is always someone within the franchise that can offer you the benefit of their experience. The level of advice, both business and personal, is fantastic – everyone at Pyjama Drama is amazingly supportive.
I feel really proud to belong to the Pyjama Drama family and feel very optimistic, not only for my own business but for the business as a whole. I really believe in the next ten years the franchise network will be humongous!” Rochelle Malhi, Franchise Manager for Telford and Bridgnorth
”As a former teacher and head of literacy (as well of being a mum to three fantastic girls!), I am blown away by the sessions that combine so many different elements and support the National Curriculum.
I am proud to tell people about the franchise and be part of it.”
Sara Hall, Franchise Manager for Leeds
