Find out why franchising might be a good idea if you want to work flexibly, for yourself:
TechyTots was established at the beginning of 2017 in response to a gap in the market by mum of two Gemma Murray, having worked with families and in schools for over ten years.
Having family members working in this field and after researching the benefits of teaching children coding Gemma was keen to introduce her own children to coding and quickly realised there was nothing available in the early years to develop such skills.
It was quickly apparent that there was high demand for TechyTots with lots of schools asking to run sessions and with family sessions being popular.
In just over a year the level of supply and demand was so high for TechyTots, the opportunity for the business to grow was clear and the decision to franchise was made.
TechyTots is now a national franchise providing classes from Tyneside to London. TechyTots has been nominated for ‘Best New Children’s Activity’ in the ‘Whats on 4 little ones awards 2018’ and has recently been announced as regional finalists for ‘Start up of the year’ the FL Awards 2018
TechyTots is the first class in the uk to bring together technology and play to introduce children to coding.
Our aim is to work on the first steps of coding with children at a young age to help prepare them for the technical world we now live in whilst making it fun.
‘Coding’ for those who do not already know is put simply a set of instructions for a computer or device.
At TechyTots we encourage children to develop early coding skills by using robots and the most advanced ‘Techy’ toys available.
We also use unplugged play and activities which encourage problem solving skills, critical thinking, sequencing, early maths skills and early programming, which are not only educational but lots of fun too!
TechyTots delivers community sessions, school workshops and extracurricular activities. TechyTots is a unique business which gives franchisees the opportunity to run our multitude of successful school programs and public sessions whilst having the flexibility to suit your lifestyle.
You can work part time or full time around your current commitments.
When it comes to preparing your children for the future, there are few better ways to do so than to help them learn to code!
Coding helps children to develop academic skills and build qualities like perseverance, confidence, and organisation.
Coding helps children to learn maths skills, writing, builds confidence and creativity! Coding is a basic literacy in the digital age, and it’s important for children to understand the technology around them.
There’s a high demand for workers in the tech industry, allowing children to learn coding from the early years will give them skills they can use for the future.
TechyTots is looking for creative people who are enthusiastic about working with children and who want a job they will truly love!
You do not need to be a qualified teacher as all training is provided however you do need to have the confidence to lead a session, be fun and outgoing and have great communication skills.

I have over 22 years’ experience of working with children and I was looking for a new challenge that fitted around my young family.
I decided to join TechyTots as it is a unique and exciting opportunity. The training and support I get from head office is outstanding.
Coding is part of the national curriculum and a growing area which will be an essential skill set for future generations. By offering coding classes both in the community and in schools it gives children the opportunity to build early coding skills through fun activities.
There are people who currently work in IT who are learning how to code as adults and as we know children pick up things a lot quicker than us adults!
I am launching my first community group for children aged 2-4 in September and I plan to start after school clubs in the autumn term and already have demand to start a Saturday group.
The TechyTots franchise is unique so it can be as big as you want it to be, my aim is to have 2 franchises within 2 years and train and employ staff to run the classes.
‘TechyTots has been running at our school for a term now and due to demand is returning for a second.
The children are raving about what they are able to achieve within the session and I have been blown away by their independence and digital confidence.
By playing with high-spec technology, they are communicating, working as valuable team members and solving problems.
This club allows us to provide the children a fantastic opportunity to begin coding and prepare them for life in an ever-changing, digital world.’ – Teacher at St Oswald’s Primary
‘A fantastic day to launch Science and Tech week! Our EYFS and Year 1 pupils loved all of the techy coding toys! Just fantastic!!!’ – Assistant Head at St Philip Neri Primary
‘My son has been attending TechyTots after school club on a Friday night he loves it so much! We love hearing about what he’s been doing when he returns home.

‘We have been bringing our granddaughter to this amazing group for nearly 6 months now. She is now 3 years old and has developed so much in that time it takes our breath away!
Even when we are not at TechyTots we are “doing technology ” Just last week she and I plotted a route from the dining room to the kitchen using post it notes with arrows on and her working out the best path to take on the floor tiles!’
‘What an absolutely fantastic class. My 3 year old son and I had a lovely time. Great resources, great session leaders!
We are looking forward to the next installment! We would highly recommend this group.’
