The Government has launched its income protection scheme for the self employed.
The Government has launched its income protection scheme for the self employed alongside new guidance on returning to work, holiday entitlement and transport safety.
The Self-Employment Income Support Scheme went live yesterday so self-employed individuals or members of partnerships whose business has been adversely affected by coronavirus can apply for a grant worth 80% of their average monthly trading profits, up to a maximum of £7,500, paid in a single instalment.
The Government has also announced five new ministerial taskforces which will look at the following sectors:
Each taskforce will work across Government and engage with key stakeholders in public health, industry, trade unions and devolved administrations with the aim of ensuring that COVID-19 secure guidelines are developed in line with the phased approach and public health directions, agreeing and ensuring the alignment of all relevant sectoral guidance and providing key sector stakeholders direct access to Ministers to shape the guidance.
