Offer a real career opportunity, not just a job

At Bright & Beautiful our professional housekeeping teams are made up of a diverse range of people; some have held cleaning jobs, but many have not! Our roles have proved to be ideal for mums who want to get back into work and people who have transferred into our roles because they don’t want to work shifts or want something which fits around their family.  It’s all about creating and communicating an opportunity that excites people, that feels secure and fits with what they want to take as their next career step.

Offer flexible working

Ideally you would offer both full time and part time in your business which will open up opportunities to both types of job seeker. Be clear about roles available and any benefits around the way you work when recruiting.

Build a team environment

Our housekeepers always work in teams which is another big differentiator in our industry. Feeling ‘part of a team’ is important in the workplace, especially for people who may have come from a busy office or who are returning to work after a break.

Define your business

Be clear and consistent about your own vision, values and goals in business and promote what’s great and different about your company.  You need to be able to communicate this to potential employees so that they can be sure that they are a good fit for your business, for your sake and theirs.
