‘I’VE THE FLEXIBILITY I DREAMT OF’

Sara La Roux mum to Isabelle (aged 1 year) and

Eliot (aged 3 years) inspires imagination in Yorkshire with her own Creation Station franchise

Sara had a successful and fulfilling  career in HR, and when she had her second children, Sara decided it was time to look at new opportunities for herself and her family. Sara came across the Creation Station and saw that this was a way to give her the flexibility she wanted and to   be able to build her business as her children grew.

Sara was awarded the prestigious title of ‘New Franchise Owner of the Year 2015’ and her busuiness continues to grow and inspire childrens imaginations.

‘I’ve always been interested in the idea of running my own business, so when our second child arrived, I decided to find an opportunity that would give us the flexibility to set our own weekly routines and minimise the time that our children spent in childcare,’ says Sara ‘It was important for me to contribute to our household income. I also wanted to develop new skills and still be able to spend lots of quality time with my little ones.’ ‘When I was researching franchises, I knew that I didn’t want to be tied to a desk all the time. When I came across The Creation Station it seemed an ideal blend of meeting people, sharing fun creative experiences with others and business development, all with the support of an established and successful brand behind me.’ ‘Owning my own business is extremely rewarding and I love how no two days are ever the same. I get fantastic feedback from customers of our children’s art and craft classes, parties and events. It makes me realise that what we do really is making a difference to others,’ revealed the mum of two. ‘I’ve developed lots of new skills, met fantastic people, and have the flexibility I dreamt of for my own business to fit into my schedule and needs.’

BBC features Penny Gilbert

Penny moved from investment banking to investing in herself with a brand that aligned with her core values.  Penny’s story is so powerful the BBC interviewed her to share what inspired the decision to run her own Creation Station Franchise.

creation1Penny Gilbert from Oxford worked in Investment Banking before deciding  to invest in herself to create a more positive and fulfilling family and work lifestyle.

Penny didn’t enjoy the environment she worked in and decided to look into the option of running her own franchise, where she could use her considerable skills to run her own business, but with the reassurance of a tried and tested business model. With so many franchise options available, Penny decided to look at what she enjoyed doing and used this as a guide to help her identify the type of business she was looking for.

Penny volunteers as a Brown Owl for Brownies and a Guide Guider for Guides, as she loves working with children and with this focus in mind, Penny explored a number of options that would enable her to run a business, maintain her own personal values and include activities that she was passionate about.

Penny came across ‘The Creation Station’, the UKs leading  childrens art and crafts experience business online. The franchise provides children’s arts and crafts classes, parties and events.

“The Creation Station immediately jumped right our at me. I couldn’t quite believe it would be possible to run a business doing what I love!” smiled Penny “Plus  I could  bring my daughter along to the classes too, which meant that I could spend more time with my daughter and new baby and reduce my childcare costs.”

“My life now has all the things I want, believe in and value. I absolutely love running my own award winning Creation Station Franchise. I am able to balance my home life with our newest edition without giving up a rewarding career. By investing in brand I believe in, and in myself, I have been able to make a lifestyle choice which tick all the boxes for my family’s future.” states Penny. “Our Franchisor, Sarah Cressall is a pure inspiration as she is committed to building strong working relationships within the network and the whole head office team are dedicated and passionate about each individual Franchise Owner’s business.  This has really helped me to maximise potential opportunities, develop personally and to achieve a full return on my financial and emotional investment.”

Red magazine features Ruth Morris

creation2“I have the best career in the world whilst providing a loving and secure family life for those most important to me.”

“What began as an ambition to launch a small, flexible family-friendly initiative has become in only ten months an all-encompassing roller-coaster of ever increasing highlights. I was seeking a new direction away from the local authority environment I was engaged in. Whilst in employment my children were in wrap around childcare for a ten years and I just thought why? I can take control and change things.

Running my own Creation Station franchise has provided me with the opportunity to have the flexibility I want,  to work with children and support families and to be creative, as well as being my own boss and financially  benefiting far more than when I was employed full time.

creation3My business has grown much quicker and I have still been able to enjoy three months of holidays, have an entire summer with my children. I’ve developed new friendships that I didn’t have time for before, I’ve moved home and used my earnings to furnish our new farmhouse.  I have held my daughter’s hand as she started school and have stood in the playground when the bell rings at 3:15 every day. And all of this only possible because of my Creation Station franchise.

The future is rosy; I am recruiting party and seasonal staff, developing new venues, building partnerships & engaging with charities. Running my own Creation Station franchise fills me with confidence, excitement, ambition and satisfaction. Every goal I set and achieve reinforces that it is possible to have the ultimate career whilst providing a loving & secure family life for those most important to me; Lexie, 5, Connor 11 and my biggest supporter, my husband Steve.”
