In actual fact, modern ambulance services do a lot more!

Our vehicles clock up more than four million miles every year. Our clinicians work with universities to develop new health initiatives. We pioneer new ways of working.

In fact our most recent pilot scheme for handling calls for an ambulance is being replicated across the UK! Something we are very proud of.

We also work closely with the communities we serve - listening and responding to any suggestions they may have.

We also have a specialised branch of the ambulance service called the HART team which deals with events such as explosions, terrorist attacks or biological threats.
