About the role

Sense are looking for reliable and motivated people to join our professional team as a Senior Support Worker at our service in Brent, London. This is a full time position working 37.5 hours per week within a supported living service.

Our Senior Support Workers will need to manage the day to day running of a responsive, innovative, and high quality service for people with sensory, learning, and mental health needs.  Special attention will be paid to the creation of a continuous learning environment that will seek to maximise the potential of each person.

You will assist the manager and deputies in the running of the service, including co-ordinating the team to ensure that all shared responsibilities are fulfilled and systems maintained.

About you

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate willingness to participate in training and development. You will need to communicate in a variety of different methods and be prepared to deal with challenging situations. You will also be expected to work on your own initiative and show patience and understanding.

You will hold a proven track record of motivating others including carrying out supervision meetings.  You will have experience of working with adults with disabilities, monitoring the care provided and identifying and resolving issues arising from the 'day to day' operation.

We are particularly interested in individuals who are competent signers to the equivalent of Level One or above in British Sign Language (BSL)

About us

For everyone living with complex disabilities. For everyone who is deafblind. Sense is here to help people communicate and experience the world.

We believe that no one, no matter how complex their disabilities, should be isolated, left out, or unable to fulfil their potential.

Our service in Brent is an amazing new build Supported Living Service (12 self-contained flats), which will enable the people who will live there to develop their daily living skills, become active in their community and live life to the full.

Working at Sense can be incredibly rewarding; we offer the opportunity to work in a large, diverse and successful charity where people can develop their skills, knowledge and careers in a supportive and flexible environment. In addition we have excellent training and development, the opportunity for you to join our Group Personal Pension scheme and a generous annual leave entitlement.

For an informal discussion about this role, please contact Tomasz Borys via [email protected]
