Job Details

As a junior Credit Analyst, you will be working alongside the senior European Credit Analyst covering a portfolio of European investment grade and high yield bond issuers. You will also work closely with our London-based European Credit Trader, to provide in depth analysis and make recommendations to our portfolio management team.

Your main duties in this role will be to maintain the primary responsibilities for a portfolio of credits, whilst developing relationships with a broad range of stakeholders, both internal and external. You will also be contributing to the ongoing evolution of our investment process through gaining and analysing information on relevant industries and companies.

The Fixed Income team is a growing and profitable business with a history initially built in two home markets, being Australia and the US. It manages over A$177 billion for 142 clients in 14 countries across three investment hubs in London, Philadelphia and Sydney.

Ideally, you will have an understanding of financial documentation and strong financial modelling experience of relevant transactions in your sector.  Furthermore, you will be highly numerate, with exceptional analytical and financial modelling skills and have a sense of curiosity and an investigative drive, as well as sound business judgement.

You will have a passion for, and good understanding of, financial markets especially in fixed income.  A strong level of drive, initiative, commitment, and dedication, with excellent time management skills and the ability to multi-task is also imperative.

To be successful in this role you will have previous/current experience as a credit analyst gained in funds management, the sell side, a ratings agency, or within a bank analysing European issuers.  Relevant tertiary qualifications (finance or accounting related, CFA candidacy or qualification highly regarded) with an exceptional academic record.

This is an outstanding opportunity to join a highly successful and growing team in a valuable and important role.

Working at Macquarie

We believe in providing a positive environment for all our staff that is innovative and inspiring. For our female staff, Macquarie’s senior leaders are actively involved in increasing the representation of females in management positions.  In June 2014, we launched a mentoring programme for females, with the following two objectives:

  • Address female retention rates at Senior Manager level and improve our diverse pipeline of talent;
  • Engage female Senior Managers by providing tools and support around their personal development;

The programme pairs up Senior Managers with Directors, who meet on a monthly basis, and are supported by active group sessions (bi-monthly) with an external facilitator.

We select some of the brightest minds to help us in solving complex challenges for our clients.  We recognise that recruiting talent from varied backgrounds is essential to improving our understanding of the marketplace, and enhancing creativity and problem-solving capabilities in our businesses.

Because of this, our commitment to you is to create a diverse and inclusive workplace regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, ethnicity or cultural background.

We make this commitment not only because it is the right thing to do but it opens up a world of opportunity, securing the future of our people, our success and our business
