Hours: Full Time, 36 Hours per Week (Job Share applications will be considered – please specify in supporting information)

Location: Home based, requiring travel all over England.

Salary:  £43,416.17 per annum full time equivalent

About the role:

Skills for Care are looking for a workforce development specialist to join its workforce innovation team. The workforce innovation team covers a broad portfolio of projects covering everything from practice focused initiatives such as supporting the development of learning frameworks for workers supporting people with autism, to strategic support on workforce commissioning and workforce planning, to guidance for employers on people performance management, to exploring the role of robotics and artificial intelligence and their potential impact on the social care workforce.

The workforce innovation team work in partnership with local, regional and national employers, policy makers and strategic bodies. We work closely with other Skills for Care colleagues and many of our projects are co-led with colleagues across the organisation. Our team is involved in BD activities and work towards reporting to DHSC. Project managers in the team are also responsible for leading on allocated projects, maintaining and develop internal and external stakeholder relationships and ensuring that their diverse portfolio developers to agreed outcomes.

About you:

Ideally, you will be educated to level 6, have a demonstrable background in workforce development with a social care/ or health focus and will possess relevant experience in project management. Please note that this isn’t a role directly working in social care service provision, but one supporting employers, addressing national workforce priorities and influencing social care workforce policy and strategy.

You will have experience in presenting and communicating to large and small groups, working with complexity with multiple partners and multiple projects. In addition you will be able to manage your own time and work planning, whilst working effectively with supporting office and administration functions.
