What is the purpose of this role?
To undertake aerial tree work as part of the management of the Sheffield City Council highway tree stock ensuring the health and safety of the public.
- Location: Olive Grove Depot, 99 Olive Grove Rd, Sheffield S2 3GD
- Working hours: 40 hrs a week from Monday to Friday between the hours of 07:30AM and 16:00PM
- Contract: Permanent
What will this role involve?
- Undertake aerial tree work
- Horticultural activities including planting, pruning, seeding and treatments
- general maintenance such as grass cutting, hedge trimming, clearing leaves and clearing litter
- Ensure compliance with existing authority requirements
- Carry out an onsite risk assessment for every job as well as daily equipment check sheets
- Compliance with Company health and safety procedures
- Carry out, out of hours standby when needed
What are we looking for?
- Related qualification in ground based chainsaws, tree climbing and aerial rescue
- Ability to work with an existing team on site
- Previous experience of horticulture operations
- Awareness of Health and Safety legislation
- Appropriate qualification to relevant trade
- Problem solving skills
- Self-motivated and pro-active in terms of delivering solutions
