In support of this the Group FIU is a dedicated intelligence team that helps to protect the bank and its customers from fraud and financial crime threats. Internally within LBG it generates intelligence on how criminals might attempt to circumvent the bank's controls. Externally it supports law enforcement in the detection and prevention of financial crime or in the response to terrorist incidents.

An exciting opportunity is now available for an experienced intelligence practitioner to join the FIU for the next phase of development of this team. As Senior Manager, Strategic Intelligence you'll play a central part in LBG's overall strategy for fraud and financial crime prevention.

Key function of the role:

*To lead the development and delivery of an intelligence analysis capability within the Group Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) in order to enable the bank to proactively identify threats and unknown risks, undertake horizon scanning analyses, assess LBG exposure and develop incremental control improvements in the prevention and detection of fraud and financial crime.
*To serve as a key point of accountability for strategic intelligence assessments for fraud and financial crime.

Key accountabilities:

*Provide timely and reliable intelligence on thematic issues of strategic fraud and financial crime importance to the bank, to inform Group risk appetite, risk management decisions and support risk model validation.
*Develop strategic threat assessments (including horizon scanning) and recommendations for improvements in fraud and financial controls.
*Conduct and lead in-depth analysis and research to develop intelligence on customers and trends.
*Maintain governance and oversight of the quality and controls across the team in accordance with the FIU operating framework.
*Build strong and sustainable relationships internally and externally to support knowledge sharing with industry and government bodies as well as to obtain and exchange information, identify best practices and deliver results.
*Represent the Group at internal and external fraud and financial crime and industry intelligence forums.

Specific skills / experience:

*Practical experience of intelligence work in government, law enforcement or financial institutions, in particular using intelligence to produce strategic threat assessments. Knowledge of fraud and financial crime risk and controls
*The leadership skills to develop and establish a team; and to build effective relationships with a wide range of senior partners in LBG, including other financial institutions, the regulator, government and law enforcement agencies
*Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; and the ability to rapidly and accurately understand and articulate complex intelligence issues and identify the potential risks inherent within them.
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills including report writing, analysis and presentation to senior audiences and influencing partners.
*Experience/knowledge of banking (Desirable).
*Qualifications in intelligence analysis, fraud and/or financial crime (Desirable).
